Walter Minus is a painter, creator of BD and illustrator. His art is of profound reflexion, enlightenment and joy, by his self admittance: through the female form. With a degree from the Ecole Nationale Superiéure des Métiers d’Art and Art appliqués of Paris, born in 1958 in Rome, Walter currently lives in Paris.
Walters Minus’s women are delectable. They are presented to us as angelical and divinely Pinup, with pouting lips and seductive contours. Walter’s artwork is of precise lines, coupled with subtle black contours that place his work squarely in the Pop Art arena. The muses of Walter Minus astound us. We discover them as portraits, in profile, wearing black lingerie or nearly nothing. Does sensuality take over from tenderness, or the other way around? To each their interpretation and one could believe the inverse to be true. In retrospect his illustrated books – success stories – becomes a reference: Magazines are peppered with illustrations by Walter Minus so are book covers and his work has been constantly used with confidence in Advertising campaigns.
Since 2006, Walter Minus has essentially concentrated on his Art. His works as always are avidly searched after by well informed collectors, to be found at exhibitions and via his blog “www.walterminus.fr”.
